This week we are practising using scissors to cut as well as talking about patterns. As we are learning about Sockthing, one of `kipper’s toys, we asked to make a Sockthing. We decided that we wanted to use card and try to colour our Sockthing using a pattern just like Sockthing In Mick Inkpen’s story. We talked about how we hold scissors and cut with them. Then we carefully coloured our Sockthing using a pattern of repeating colours of our choice. This activity really made us think carefully. When we looked at our 5 pillars we decided this activity was both challenge, rest (as we were resting our brain) and exercise for our fingers – it really made our hands work hard!
What happened to Sockthing, Kipper’s favourite toy?
