I hope everyone is enjoying their half term holiday so far. I am so pleased with the way the children have settled into school over this first half term. We have been working on building their independence and sometimes it’s hard to imagine that they have only been in school for 7 weeks as they are doing so well. I’m sure you’re all very proud.
Next week we will be learning all about bonfire night and using fireworks as inspiration for artwork and expanding our vocabulary. We will be creating 3d fireworks for a display using junk resources. It would be great if you could save any toilet roll tubes, boxes, silver foil, milk bottle lids etc. and bring them into school to help us. We’re basically after anything bright, sparkly and exciting for the children to really get engaged with the work, so anything you have that you think could help would be gratefully received and used!
We are also planning to set up a music line in the mud kitchen. I have added a photo to this blog post so you can see the sorts of things we are after. Obviously it’s just old stuff we’re after, not your favourite saucepan set!
Many thanks for your continued support,
Go on a nature walk of your own and see what you can find. Draw a picture and write about what you found, you could even take a photo. Please bring it into school so we can display it on our homework board.
Today we have been learning to perfect the skills that we have learned in P.E. We have been using a tool on the iPad to help us improve. The app allows us to video our movements and to use annotations on the screen to improve our technique. Here you can see that we have been learning to jump correctly. Have you been using this app for your classes P.E lessons?
Today we have been ordering objects according to size. Titch has set us a challenge to sort objects that are shorter and taller than him. Can you do this challenge?
Today we have been looking for shapes in our environment and talking about the properties of each shape. Can you find different shapes in your classroom too?
We have all enjoyed dressing up as a character from an Eric Carle book. We have also had fun doing activities linked to our class author.
Today we are making a collage of the hungry caterpillar. We have been talking about different shades in colours and different textures. Have a look to see if you can find him in school!
