Library Visits.

Class 1 really enjoy their library visits.

This term we have been sharing stories about Paddington from our class author, Michael Bond.

What are your favourite stories?

Repeating Patterns.

Today we have been learning about repeating patterns.

We used different objects to make our patterns.

What objects would you use to make a pattern?

Rhyming Words.

Today we are learning about Rhyming Words.

We have learnt to only change the first letter so that the words will rhyme.

We can now rhyme two words together and make a rhyming string.

Can you make a rhyming string, using the objects in the pictures?

Farming Friday.

Today we made ‘Hidden Vegetable Pizza’.

We chopped up lots of our favourite vegetables and put them into the sauce and liquidised it so no body knows they’re in there.

Which vegetables would you put into your sauce?

Coins.

Today we have been learning about coins.

We have been counting carefully and matching the number of coins to match the price . We have been looking carefully to check whether it’s a 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p or 50p that we need.

Skipping Practice.

We have been practicing very hard to make sure we can keep skipping for as long as we can, for when we do our sponsored skip for the British Heart Foundation.

How long can you skip for?

Kippers Toy Box.

Today we used our socks that we’ve all brought in, to create a ‘Sock Thing’, just like the one in Kippers Toy Box. We can use him to help us retell the story.

Have you brought a sock in, to make one?

Segmenting and Blending.

Today we painted pictures of Kippers and his toy box.

We then wrote a sentence about our picture by carefully segmenting and blending the words we wanted to use and wrote the graphemes that we needed, using alphabet strips to help us.

Farming Friday.

Today we have been planting broad beans in seed trays then went into the green house to repot our garlic because it’s growing too big for the pots they are in.

We have also been making fruit salad, using instructions from our maths pictogram, to tell us how many pieces of fruit we need.

What fruit would you put in a fruit salad?

3D Shapes.

Today we have been learning about 3D shapes.

We used different materials to make 3D shapes and remembered to use 3D shape names when we were talking about them.

We used iPads to record all the words we were using to describe our shapes.
