Today, class 1 have been very busy today retelling Allan Ahlberg’s story ‘Funnybones’ to each other though pictures. We had to hunt illustration in our outdoor environment then put pictures into order, thinking about how the story began the middle and what happens at the end.
Today the children have been using number lines to work out what happens when we add one more digit. The children knew they had to jump forward on the number line when adding. What would you do when subtracting?

After enjoying Allan Ah;berg’s story ‘Funnybones’ we painted pictures about Funnybones. We have been retelling the story to each other and talking about what has happened and what will happen next. Can you retell your favourite story?
Today, some year 5 pupils came to our classroom to talk to us. They wanted us to vote them onto our school council and tried to persuade us why we should vote for them. They had prepared some very good reasons why they would be good on the school council.
After listening to the story ‘Funnybones’ we are enjoying telling the story and looking at the book ourselves. The illustrations are great and we love telling the story in our own words and stealing words Allan Ahlberg used.

We really enjoy using iPads. Today, some of us learned how to make marks on an iPad, using our finger. We also tried changing the colour of the pen as we drew and scribed. It was very tricky but we persevered.
